The earlier official upload of this track labelled itself "Talent Show".ver before the title settled on "School Festival". Either way the frame is the same: Mizi on a school stage, performing for a crowd, and the lyric is written as stage patter. 'All eyes brush past me' turns into 'all eyes locked on me' by the bridge — the song dramatises a room being won over in real time.
Ivan's feature flips the gaze
For most of the track Mizi is the subject and everyone else is the audience. In the bridge and the third verse the perspective moves: Ivan counts down her aura, then admits 'I let my guard down — why do you look so different now?' and 'Can't take my eyes off you'. That is the joke of the feature. The coolest character in the cast is reduced to staring, and the song makes that a compliment.
